About

How Omaha Key Pros works

Omaha Key Pros is a free referral service for people in the Omaha metro and Council Bluffs. We are not a locksmith. When you call or send a request, we pass it to an independent local locksmith business that serves your area, and they contact you to price and do the work.

How we make money

The locksmith pays us for the introduction. You never pay us anything. We don't do lock work, and we don't set the locksmith's prices.

What we ask of the locksmith

• A real business name, given on the phone and on the invoice.
• The total price before work starts, trip fee included.
• An ID check before opening a home or car, or cutting a key to it.
• Non-destructive entry first, and a reason given before any drilling.

If your experience falls short of that, tell us at (402) 607-8511.

Why we built it this way

Nebraska and Iowa don't license locksmiths, and locksmith ads are a known target for lead-generation scams. The FTC and the BBB both warn about listings that quote a low fee and send whoever is available. We would rather you know what to expect, what it should cost, and how to check. How to spot a locksmith scam.

Where our information comes from

Every guide cites its sources at the end. The crime, housing and weather numbers are our own analysis of public data from the FBI, the US Census Bureau and NOAA. See the method.
